The NSFC has initiated program application for Special Fund for research on "Nonlinear partial differential equations in geometry" 2021. Details of requirements are as follows:

1.     Funding fields

The research contents of this special fund mainly focus on three aspects:

50. Canonical measures and related problems
50. General relativity for math
50. Fully nonlinear partial differential equations

2. Project duration and funding amount

The duration is five years(The start time in application form should be January 1, 2022 and finish time should be December 31, 2026) and the average funding intensity is about 4 million yuan per project(direct cost).

3. Eligibility and application limit

A. Applicants shall meet the following qualifications:

(1) With the experience of undertaking basic research projects or doing basic research;

(2) Have senior academic title.

B. In-site post-doctoral researchers are not eligible to apply for this program;

C. This fund is subject to the total number limit;

D. Applicants and participants shall only apply for or participate in the same year.

4.    Procedure of application

Online application

Applicants shall fill out application forms online and upload supplementary documents via the application system ( https://isisn.nsfc.gov.cn/ ).

※ For applicants who have no application account, please send your name, academic title, email address to nikkichen@cuhk.edu.cn by June 1, 2021 to open account.

Paperless submission

In the stage of submission, applicants shall only submit application forms online, without submitting any hard copies.

5. Additional requirements

a. Applicants shall complete online application form and proposal in Chinese;

b. Applicant shall choose the designated “funding  category”, “subclass  introduction”,  “annotation” and “application code”  in line with the guide(Annex 1);

c. The collaborative institutions shall not exceed two in number;

d. The number of main participants in application form shall not exceed nine;

e. Applicant shall first read the Annex1-guide carefully before application.

6. Deadline

(1)  Applicants shall submit application forms and upload required supplementary documents online by 24:00 on Jun. 23, 2021, the RAO will review and feedback;

(2) Applicants shall submit application forms( final version)  online by 17:00 on Jun. 28, 2021, without submitting any hard copies.

※ All colleges/research institutions shall remind faculty of the department to login the University Research Information System ( http://iresearch.cuhk.edu.cn/English ) to fill out projects’ basic information before formal submission.
