Abstract:

Practical skills are very important in Chemistry teaching labs. Chemistry students need to master various core laboratory and instrumental skills in order to be able to conduct experiments and investigations with good precision and accuracy.  Professionally prepared demonstration videos are hosted on an easy-to-access platform that allows students to (re)view the detailed information about basic skills anytime, anywhere with a few taps of their fingers on their mobile devices.  In this project, an online learning platform will be created to host a large number of previously prepared and newly customized demonstration videos, which basically cover all the core aspects of practical chemistry. The online platform can be accessed through a mobile app with keyword search and electronic tag reading functions.  Teachers can affix QR codes or RFID tags on the apparatus and the  instruments.  Students can easily find and watch specific videos by searching for the corresponding keywords or reading the electronic tags with their mobile devices.  The platform has a usage tracking function, and teachers can easily track the viewing history and records of students.
