近日，香港中文大学（深圳）春季学期校领导与国际生的Zoom夜话活动顺利举行。近200位国际学生和家长与副校长朱世平教授、协理副校长顾阳教授以及教务处（RO）、资讯科技服务处（ITSO）、职业规划与发展处（CPDO）和国际学者学生服务处（ISSSO）的老师们聚会云端，大家围绕着国际学生关注的相关话题展开讨论。ISSSO主持了本次活动，并在会前收集了同学们关注的问题。朱校长首先对长期坚持网上上课的同学们表达了亲切的问候，并与顾阳教授、各职能部门负责人及学生代表一道对学生们提出的问题给予解答。

2020年初一场突如其来的新冠疫情改变了我们的生活，这场席卷全球的新冠大流行至今仍然影响着我校国际学生的学习和生活方式。迄今为止，国际本科学生中只有13人回到了学校并参与正常的校园生活，受疫情期间的入境限制，绝大多数国际学生一直滞留海外，不少大一国际生已经在网上远程学习了8个月至一年有余。在此期间，大学主管人员对网上远程上课的同学们非常关心，朱世平副校长多次组织各个学生服务部门听取同学们的反馈，解决同学们提出的问题。ISSSO老师也在国际学生微信群里随时为同学们答疑解惑。这次的Zoom夜话活动是朱校长又一次组织各个学生服务部门与国际学生们的大型网上对话活动。

在本次Zoom夜话活动中，副校长朱世平教授首先向同学们介绍了大学的二期校园建设，分享了疫情期间大学的发展情况。他接着说：“国际化是我们这所大学的重要品牌，我们非常重视国际学生在校期间的学习体验和文化交流。虽然新冠疫情在深圳乃至整个中国都得到了有效控制，校园教学和生活也在很大程度上恢复了正常，但是没有广大国际学生的回归和在校园的直接参与，我们的校园生活是不完整的！一旦入境限制放松，我们将在第一时间帮助同学们返回校园！”

同学们对大学主管人员和各个职能部门负责人参加本次Zoom夜话活动报以积极的回应。他们提出的问题包括入境、隔离、疫苗政策，以及网上学习期间的实验课，混合模式教学，国际毕业生离校，科研、实习、就业和升学机会等，朱校长、顾教授和与会的各职能部门负责人与同学们进行了详细的讨论并一一给予解答。朱校长强调说:大学会持续为国际生入境后的隔离提供支持，并为国际毕业生通过网上参加毕业典礼和远程办理离校手续提供方便。数据科学学院大二学生Richard Cornelius分享了他为教授做研究助理的体会，经管学院大四学生Isra Ahmed介绍了她在深圳参加校外实习的经历。两位同学鼓励同学们要积极主动应对疫情期间的学习和生活方面的挑战。

通过这次Zoom夜话活动，同学们再次汲取了宝贵的信息和心得。一方面，学生们提出的问题得到了解答并获得了诸多方面的建议，另一方面，分管学生工作的大学主管人员和学生服务部门也对世界各地学生在网上学习期间所遇到的困难有了更进一步的了解。

我们期待世界各地的国际学生能够早日回到我们神仙湖畔的美丽校园。

It's nice to have a support system from the university. It has been a hard time coping up through online learning, but I'm super glad that the university is very open to our concerns, and has been very supportive in resolving our issues. This proves that even when international students are in a minority group, we are still well taken care of.

I really appreciate the university's efforts to stay connected with international students who are having to study online. I am glad to have had a chance to share my internship experience in Shenzhen during the Zoom meeting and to guide my juniors in finding their own internship opportunities.
