Five CUHK-Shenzhen Students Admitted to Yale Visiting International Student Program
The admission result for the Yale Visiting International Student Program (Y-VISP) for the 2020/2021 Academic Year has been released recently. Five outstanding CUHK-Shenzhen undergraduate students are admitted.
Y-VISP is open only to students from its eight selective global partner institutions, including National University of Singapore, Yale-NUS College, Waseda University, The University of Hong Kong and The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, etc. While studying at Yale, each visiting international student will be assigned an academic adviser to assist with course selection and will have access to courses on the same terms as Yale undergraduates with similar preparation.
For the 2020/2021 Academic Year, CUHK-Shenzhen ranks the second among the partner institutions of Y-VISP in terms of students admitted in the program. Since the partnership between CUHK-Shenzhen and Yale University was established in November 2019, a total number of 12 excellent undergraduate students from CUHK-Shenzhen have been accepted by Y-VISP.
Y-VISP is known for its strict admission criteria and the high-quality studying experience it provides to the selective international students. Eligible applicants should rank top 10% of their cohort in terms of quantitative marks or grades, have a minimum TOEFL score of 100 or a minimum IELTS score of 8.0, and pass the online interview conducted by Y-VISP selection committee. Due to the fact that CUHK-Shenzhen students receives high-demanding academic training in an all-English environment at the university, Yale has waived the English language requirement for CUHK-Shenzhen students, and the students enrolled in the program are eligible for a 20% reduction from the then-current tuition fees.
