About the Program

Galaxy World & Hong Kong Chinese University (Shenzhen) Student Entrepreneur Project was based on the cooperation between Galaxy World Group and CUHK(SZ) on student entrepreneurship. Galaxy Group guaranteed the provision of office space, and some financial supports in the form of donation. The fund will be managed by the University Foundation underits financial Rules and Regulations.

In the first Student Entrepreneur Project application, ten entrepreneur projects have been selected to get an overall amount of RMB 840,000 through evaluation by the Project Evaluation Committee. The 2nd batch of application is now started.

We accept entrepreneur project proposals from all students and staffs. The Project Evaluation Committee will evaluate the proposals received, the selected project will sign a Project Funding Agreement and get support of funds and space.

The deadline of this application is 12/01/2016

Notices

1.Applicants could be students (undergraduate, graduate, doctoral students) and all staff members (lecturers and professors) in CUHKSZ.

2.Priority will be given to student projects groups with supervisors/advisers (inside or outside the University)

Funds and Requirements

1.Galaxy will provide at most 100,000 RMB to each selected entrepreneur project according to evaluation.

2.In principle, the project duration shall be 1 year (12 months) for the selected project groups, and change of the project leader will not be allowed in the exception of his/her health issues or other convincible reasons provided. If 1/3 members drop out from groups or quitted member(s) is/are considered to have severe impacts on project plan and operation, the evaluation committee will terminate the project(s). 

3. Applicants who are members in the selected project groups are not allowed to apply again.

4. Applicant is not allowed to take part in two or more projects.

5.Selected groups shall submit a quarterly work report every three months for review. The University and Galaxy Group will follow up their plans and progress of operation and fund utilization. As project concluding, the project groups will be asked to give presentation or the University will arrange some on-site inspections/visits.

6.Selected groups shall not use the fund for purposes other than project itself. The Galaxy Group has the right to freeze the remainder of the fund and retains the right to pursue the repayment of the embezzled fund in the event that selected groups have misappropriate the fund. The University will adopt some punishments If this happens.

Application procedures

1.Download (attachment) and fill in the application form (with project proposal) before handing it over to Ms. Yuning Cai from Research Administration Office (RAO), please note that an e-copy is needed (please send it to caiyuning@cuhk.edu.cn).

2.For evaluation, the students need to give presentations about their entrepreneur projects and provide as detail information as possible to the committee for final marks. The presentation will be scheduled to 1-2 week(s) later than the application deadline.
