       Milling, shaping, glazing, 1280°C, heating at blazing temperature, Porcelain eventually comes into being.

       Classic, Exquisiteness, Elegance, 1800 years' history of porcelain making has vouchsafed as the criteria. Now in our era, modern porcelain makers are to decide between sticking to the established rules and bringing new lights. Apart from making hard choices, the porcelain making technique presents another difficulty. The high temperature will cause 15% contraction. The lines, initially clear-cut, shall be twisted and distorted. It is almost impossible to bring the modern spirit of precision and resolution into life.

     Leaving the film industry, turning to glass craftsmanship, later devoting himself to the study of white porcelain techniques, Heinrich Wang founded NewChi in 2003. After 3 years of focused hard work, Heinrich Wang unveils to the public the Stance Series introducing a new look of 21st century porcelain. Oriental charm and modern imagery, classical elegance and contemporary lines, the 15th Lecture of the Meeting Intellectuals in the Spring Hills Lecture Series, Heinrich Wong will start us onto the request for the Last Romance.

Lecturer

       Artist Heinrich Wang, after successfully innovating contemporary glass art in the Chinese world and thus revered as "Father of Chinese modern glass art", decided to again push the boundaries of craftsmanship and entered the glamorous world of porcelain. He then founded the "NewChi" Porcelain brand in 2003, with the mission to revive Chinese porcelain craft, once the symbol for wealth and class all over the world. 

       With the beautiful, dignified, and elegant traditions of Chinese porcelain as his nourishment, he also pours contemporary aesthetics and modern architecture elements into his NewChi Porcelain. Again, Heinrich Wang created a new age for the great Chinese art of porcelain and was recognized by the State Council of People’s Republic of China in 2013 as one of the 50 influential contemporary Chinese creative leaders including IM Pei and Ang Lee among others. He received the Honorary Academician of UIC in 2017.

       In August 2018, he was invited to participate in the opening exhibition of Baoku Jiangxin Art Center in Shanghai Center with 28 China's most respected masters of Chinese arts and crafts!
