Executive Officer (Student Affairs and Counselling) - Eighth College (Ref. 2025/132/01)
Post Specification
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with mentors, wardens & tutors team to handle student affairs, including but not limited to student dormitory management, student activity organization, and individual student counselling;
2. Serve as frontline staff in matters of student safety and health, providing necessary initial crisis intervention and assisting supervisors in emergency management related to student safety and health issues;
3. Assist in planning, organizing, and supervising college facility and environmental beautification projects to ensure proper maintenance and upgrades of college facilities and environment;
4. Provide administrative support to the College Office, including document management, meeting arrangements, schedule coordination, etc., to ensure the efficient operation of the office;
5. Undertake any other duties assigned by the supervisor; working during non-office hours will be needed.
Qualifications and Requirements:
1. Hold a bachelor’s degree or above;
2. At least three years of working experience in student affairs within a higher education setting, with a deep understanding of student behavior, case management, and routine administrative procedures;
3. Excellent Chinese and English writing skills, with expertise in drafting reports, articles, and official documents;
4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with students, parents, and internal/external stakeholders;
5. A proactive, people-oriented approach, with a strong sense of responsibility and the ability to handle emergencies promptly. The candidate must be willing to reside on campus and be available for urgent situations;
6. Passionate about the mission of education with a strong sense of responsibility and team spirit;
7. Basic knowledge of psychology, mental health crisis intervention, and legal responsibilities within an educational context would be advantageous.
Salary and Benefits
Salary will be competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointments will be made under the establishment of CUHK-SZ and statutory benefits will be provided according to the prevailing labor laws applicable in the PRC. The appointee will be based at the University campus in Shenzhen, PRC.
