The Orchestra of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen was established in 2015, composing of undergraduates who were from different schools and majors, and got together because of their passion for classical music. Starting from 2019, The Orchestra officially became a university-level Orchestra, composing of students, staff and alumni. The Orchestra has been dedicated to the development of classical music on campus, and the promotion of both classical and modern music. It has organised 2023 “Tuesday with Orchestra” CUHK-Shenzhen Orchestra Concert, “Sound of Chamber Music” Principal Quintet Concert of CUHK-Shenzhen Orchestra, and participated in the Annual Concert of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen at Poly Theatre in 2015 and at Shenzhen Concert Hall from 2016 to 2022, 2017 CUHK-Shenzhen Student Chorus Concert at Longgang Cultural Centre, 2019 Longgang Water Music Concert at Shenzhen Universiade Centre, 2021 CUHK-Shenzhen “Starry·Sky” Choral Concert, 2021 CUHK-Shenzhen “Music in the Cloud” Concert, and giving performances independently or collaborating with the Chorus of CUHK-Shenzhen to perform excellent music pieces such as Peer Gynt, Pirates of the Caribbean, L'Arlesienne, The Complete Harry Potter, Pomp and Circumstance, War Song of Kings and Main Theme. 

In November 2020, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen and the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra launched the University-troupe Cooperation project, which includes the cooperation in courses and performances. In July 2021, the Orchestra was invited to participate in the filming of the promotional video of The Readers II by China Central Television at Pingshan Grand Theatre. As a university-level art group, the Orchestra is planning to perform more classical pieces in the future.

Cho Ki Jacky WONG, a pianist and conductor, is the first musician in Asia and Australia to conduct while playing a full set of Beethoven Piano Concertos. He is currently the Principal Conductor of the Shenzhen Symphony Youth Orchestra affiliated to the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, the Principal Guest Conductor of the Antonio Fragoso Symphony Orchestra of Portugal, Visiting Professor of the Cleveland Conservatory of Music in the United States, Artist Advisory and the Judge of the Guimaraes International Violin Competition in Portugal, Consultant of the Hong Kong International Music Festival and the Judge of Hong Kong Pianist Competition.
