Abstract:
Mr. Ch'ien Mu is the namer and one of the principal founders of The Chinese University of Hong Kong. With magnificent contributions in the fields of education and scholarship, Ch'ien has laid a solid foundation for the University which extends to nowadays in Longgang, Shenzhen. He is well acclaimed in the history of China not only as a dedicated educator, but also as a great historian and scholar of Chinese culture.
The Lakeside Forum is a place to connect humanities, people and liberal arts education at CUHK-Shenzhen.
As Mr. Ch'ien Mu, the pioneer of the University, said, it is crucial to extend "warmth and tribute" to traditional history and world civilization. This is the root of a great tree and will produce a wide swath of fruit from generation to generation.
