Professor Liu Yuejin is currently the director and researcher of the Institute of Literature of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the dean of the School of Chinese Language and Literature of the University of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, a professor and doctoral supervisor of the Department of Literature of the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and concurrently the president of the Journal of Literature Review, the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Literary Heritage, and the president of the Chinese Society of Literary Historiography. In 2018, he was elected as a Member of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
Professor Liu received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the Chinese Department of Nankai University and then worked as a teaching assistant in the Literature and History Teaching and Research Group of Tsinghua University. From 1984 to 1986, he studied at the Research Institute for Ancient Books of Hangzhou University, where he studied classical philology under the tutelage of Mr. Jiang Liangfu and Mr. Guo Zaiyi, and received his Master of Arts degree. From 1988 to 1991, he studied the literature of the Han, Wei and Six Dynasties in the Literature Department of the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences under Mr. Cao Daoheng and received his doctorate in literature. Professor Liu started his research career at the Institute of Literature of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences from 1991.
