The admissions results of "Gao Kao", the National College Entrance Examinations (NCEE) of China, have finally been released. Students admitted to The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen will receive an originally designed admission package that marks the new journey they will embark on soon.

This year's admission package includes an acceptance letter, a notebook, and a USB flash disk. The concept of the package is inspired by "sound" and "light" — the vibration that transmits wisdom, and the energy that lights up the future. The wave pattern casing symbolizes the transmission of sound waves and represents the new students' resonance with the future and their fortitude in facing it. When you finally get around to opening that "present box", you'll realize that a whole new adventure is about to start. Next, you will instantly take notice of President Yangsheng Xu's inscription — words of encouragement and high hopes for new students — accompanying your admission letters.

One of the highlights is a sound notebook that records the sound snippets of the four years in college. You could scan the QR codes on the notebook to hear CUHK-Shenzhen’s calling to you.

Another inventive concept is the wooden USB flash drive that comes with the offer. The University’s motto  '博文約禮' or 'Through Learning and Temperance to Virtue', is printed on the bottom of the USB flash drive to encourage students to pursue their studies; the pre-stored videos of the "first university lessons" will allow you to hear teachers' messages in advance and experience the University in a different way.

The last feature is the metal emblem of the University. Within it, there is the "Bird of the South" (mythical Chinese bird Feng “鳳” ) in purple and gold, which is a symbol of nobility, beauty, loyalty and majesty. When you place the emblem on the inside of the gift box, a light strip of "window" will be lit up. When the 'light' shines through the 'window', it signifies the lighting up of exciting university life for all students.
