The NSFC has initiated application for Special Fund for research on "The basic theory and demonstration of the law of China's economic development" 2021. Details of requirements are as follows:

1. Funding fields

For details of research areas, please refer to Annex 1-Guide.

2. Eligibility of applicants

Applicants shall meet the following qualifications:

(1) With the experience of undertaking basic research projects;

(2) Have senior academic title;

※In-site post-doctoral researchers or graduate students aren’t allowed to apply for this program; Applicants who were supported by the National Social Science Fund as a project leader within the past  5  years  (from  January  1,  2016),  and have not yet got the project completion certificate awarded by the  National  Planning  Office of  Philosophy and  Social Science until the deadline of this Major  Research  Plan are not allowed to apply for this program; Applicants who have submitted application of National Social Science Fund 2021 as PI are not allowed to apply for this program.

3. Funding amount and duration

The funding will be 2 million RMB per project (direct cost) for 5 year (the start time should be 1 Jan. 2022 and finish time should be 31 Dec. 2026).

4. Procedure of application

Online application

Applicants shall fill out application forms in Chinese online via the application system ( https://isisn.nsfc.gov.cn/egrantweb/  ).

Paperless submission

In the stage of submission, applicants shall only submit online application, without submitting any hard copies.

5. Other requirements

A. At the stage of application, this Special Fund is not counted into the total  number limit which means a  researcher  with  senior academic rank applies  for  (including as an applicant and a main participant)  and  undertakes  (including  as  an  applicant  and  a  main  participant)  should not exceed two, but is counted before receiving NSFC’s formal funding decision and after approval;

B. Each applicant and participant shall apply for or participate one project of Special Fund;

C. Applicants shall only apply for one project of Special Fund for research program in the same year;

D. Applicants shall first read Annex 1 carefully before application.

6. Deadline

Applicant shall submit application form online by 12:00 on Oct. 4, 2021, without submitting any hard copies.
