The NSFC has initiated application for NSFC-RS joint exchange program 2022. Details of requirements are as follows:

1. Funding fields

All disciplines of natural sciences within  the  funding  scope  of  NSFC.

2. Eligibility of applicants

Applicants shall meet the following qualifications:

(1) Applicants from China shall have senior academic title and must be a PI or main participants(shall be approved by PI) in a NSFC research grant (ongoing and will complete on or after 31 Dec.2022) with a duration of at least 3 years;

(2) Applicants from England shall meet the RS's requirements (please refer to guide at  https://royalsociety.org/grants-schemes-awards/grants/international-exchanges/  ) ;

(3) Chinese applicant and British cooperators shall apply for the project to NSFC and RS respectively. Unilateral application shall be invalid.

3. Funding amount and duration

The duration of this program is two years (the start time should be 1 Apr.2022 and finish time should be 31 Mar. 2024) .

The NSFC will fund a maximum of 0.1 million RMB per project (only direct cost) and the RS will fund a maximum of twelve thousand pounds. Including travel expenses, catering and hotel accommodation costs for multiple exchange visits.

4. Procedure of application

Online application

Applicants from China shall fill out application forms in Chinese online via the application system ( https://isisn.nsfc.gov.cn/egrantweb/  ). Please find details of system operating steps as attached(Annex 1)

Paperless submission

In the stage of submission, applicants shall only submit online application, without submitting any hard copies.

5. Other requirements

A. This program will not be counted to the total number limit for researchers with a senior academic rank (title);

B. Applicant shall only apply for or undertake one NSFC-RS joint exchange project once  in  a  year;

C. Applicants shall upload the following supplementary documents:

• CV of applicant and main participants of British cooperators.

• Agreement signed by applicant and Korean cooperators which contain division of research content, exchange plan, intellectual property, etc. (please refer to Annex 2 for template);

D. Applicants shall first read Annex 1 carefully before application.

6. Deadline

Applicant shall submit application form online by 12:00 on Sep. 26, 2021, without submitting any hard copies.
