1. Collection Method

For Topics Collection for Sustainable Development Science and Technology Fund 2022, Shenzhen Science and Technology Innovation Commission （SZSTI） will adopt the mode of "Call for preliminary proposal first, then selecting topics, issuing guidelines, and submitting the full project proposal", focusing on efficient use of resources, ecological environment governance, life health, social governance, and rural revitalization. Applicants shall fill out application forms online via the application system (website: http://stic.sz.gov.cn/) and click on the “项目征集” column to fill in the form online (Select “创新创业专项” for the plan category in the collection form, and select“可持续发展科技专项” for the project category).

2. Collection area

(1) Field of efficient utilization of resources: Focus on achieving the goals of carbon peaking and carbon neutralization, and focus on supporting the R&D and application demonstration of key technologies and equipment such as solid waste (hazardous waste) disposal and comprehensive utilization, drying treatment of engineering mud construction site, classified utilization of demolition and construction waste, large-scale comprehensive utilization of engineering muck, and reconstruction and repair of contaminated sites.

(2) Field of eco-environmental governance: Focus on supporting R&D and application demonstration of key technologies such as climate change response, air and water pollution control, high-standard urban water saving, urban rainwater and reclaimed water treatment, water project safety and water quality safety, soil environment protection, ecological environment protection and restoration, urban biodiversity protection, marine ecological environment protection and monitoring, etc.

(3) Field of life and health: Focus on supporting the research of clinical application solutions or application demonstration of new products (clinical medical institutions demonstrate the application of new products that have obtained medical device registration certificates) such as pathogen detection and disease prevention, health of children and adolescents, environment and health, and diagnosis and treatment of major diseases, and clinical trials of registered products; application demonstration of cell therapy technology and traditional Chinese medicine in prevention and treatment of infectious diseases, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases and autoimmune diseases (see attached table for details).

(4) Field of social governance: Focus on supporting R&D and application demonstration of key technologies such as prevention and treatment of natural disasters such as meteorology, drought and flood, geology and ocean, prevention and control of forest fires, prevention and control of hazardous chemicals accidents, construction accidents, special equipment accidents, prevention and control of nuclear and radiation accidents, food and drug safety testing, prevention and control of mass poisoning incidents, occupational hazards, disaster prevention, mitigation and relief.

(5) Field of rural revitalization: Focus on supporting R&D and application demonstration of key technologies such as safety treatment of rural drinking water, efficient treatment of rural sewage, efficient water saving in agriculture, improvement of breeding and variety stress resistance, farmland pollution control and improvement, pest control, nondestructive traceability of agricultural products, food authenticity detection, and deep processing of featured agricultural products.

3. Deadline

Applicants submit the collection form online before May 18, 2021.
