Notification of application for Guangdong-Guangxi interprovincial joint research fund 2020~2021
The Departments of Science and Technology of Guangdong and Guangxi province have initiated the program application for Guangdong-Guangxi interprovincial joint research fund 2020~2021. The funding fields mainly focus on new materials, semiconductors and intelligent precision manufacturing, modern agriculture, resources and environment, population health. Details of application requirements are as follows:
1. Categories
The program set two subtypes with General Project and Key Project.
General Project
a. Applicants shall meet the following qualifications:
(1) full-time faculty;
(2) have obtained PhD degree or senior academic title;
(3) with the experience of undertaking basic research projects or doing basic research;
b. The duration is three years with the funding intensity 0.1 million yuan per project;
c. Please refer Annex 1-Guide for more information on funding fields.
Key Project
a. Applicants shall meet the following qualifications:
(1) full-time faculty;
(2) have obtained PhD degree or senior academic title;
(3) with the experience of undertaking basic research projects or doing basic research;
b. The duration is four years with the funding intensity 0.5 million yuan per project.

2. Requirements
a. Application limit
(1) Each applicant shall apply for one project once in a year ;
(2) The total number of Guangdong provincial research projects (including Guangdong R&D Program and Guangdong natural science foundation)a researcher undertakes as the PI should not exceed three ;
(3) The total number of Guangdong natural science fund projects(including Guangdong regional joint research fund) a researcher undertakes as the PI should not exceed two;
(4) Grantees of the Guangdong major research program, key area R&D program, and key project, research team project, distinguished young scholars project, major basic research fostering project of Guangdong natural science fund are not allowed to apply for Guangdong-Guangxi interprovincial joint research fund 2020~2021;
(5) Applicant who has submitted more than two projects of Guangdong provincial research projects in 2020, he/she shall not be eligible to apply for this program;
(6) In-site post-doctoral researchers aren’t allowed to apply for this program.
b. Collaborative research requirements
(1) The collaborative institutions involved shall not exceed 2 in number(At least one Guangxi institution shall participate in this program as a collaborative institution);
(2) If main participants include researchers from other domestic institutions, it is suggested that a collaboration agreement which contains fund allocation, division of labor, ownership of intellectual property and other relevant contents shall be signed by multilateral principal investigators before submission online;
(3) For overseas participants, he or she shall upload the “Informed Consent Letter” (template can be downloaded from application system and need to be signed by applicant) to the application system;
c. Other requirements
(1) The start time for research in application form shall be Dec.1, 2020;
(2) If the research content involves research ethics or science security, compliance documents shall be provided as attachments.
(3) Any requirements of relevant scientific research reviews, please refer to the CUHKSZ’s research review process of each committee as attached (Annex 2) and send the required materials and forms to each committee’s email by Nov. 25, 2020 for assessment.

(4) At least 2 papers of high academic quality shall be provided when project conclusion, please refer Annex 1-Guide for more detail requirements;
(5) Applicants shall first read guide (Annex 1) carefully to make full sense of requirements.
4. Procedure of application
Applicants shall fill out application forms in Chinese and upload supplementary documents(please refer Annex 3-attachments list) online via the application system ( http://pro.gdstc.gd.gov.cn/ ) which will open on Nov. 19, 2020, without submitting any hard copies.

5.Deadline
a. Applicants shall upload relevant attachments and submit application forms online by 18:00 on Dec.4, 2020, the RAO will review and feedback;
b. Applicants shall submit application forms (final version) online by 12:00 on Dec.7, 2020, without submitting any hard copies.
Delayed application will not be accepted.
